Child & Family Services
At the Guernsey County Children’s Advocacy Center, our Child and Family Services provide compassionate support, advocacy, and case management services for children and families throughout the investigation and healing process. We understand that families may feel overwhelmed during difficult situations, and our goal is to provide guidance, support, and connection.
Our team works closely with children, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team partners to help families navigate services, understand the investigative process, and access needed resources. Support may include crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals for counseling and mental health services, assistance with victim advocacy needs, and ongoing emotional support. Using a trauma informed and child centered approach, our team works to help stabilize families and reduce the risk of future harm by ensuring children and caregivers have the tools, education, resources, and support systems needed to move forward in a safe and healthy way.
Through Stitch’s Comfort Corner, we are also able to provide tangible support to families in times of need. Hygiene supplies are obtained through ONCAC, and additional funding and community donations allow us to create care bags for families served by the CAC. Each family also receives a Stitch in honor of Lauren, offering a source of comfort and a reminder that they are supported during a difficult time.
We are committed to helping families build stability, strengthen protective factors, and create a foundation for long term healing and success. At the Guernsey County CAC, we believe every child and family deserves compassion, dignity, and access to the support they need to heal and thrive.
